Creative Commons

Been learning all about this thing called Creative Commons.  This may just be what I have been looking for to be able to finally release some music...for free of course.  Heard about it first from Trent Reznor, I think, right about the time Nine Inch Nails released "Year Zero" as a free download on nin.com.

If it's good enough for Trent, this Creative Commons thing, then...why not!

I have recently stumbled upon websites carrying "Wrapped In The Guise Of My Friend", Attrition's cover album, as a pre-order.  Not sure on the validity of the actual release dates posted on these sites, but better start ordering now as I'm sure these babies will be selling like hotcakes on a beautiful Saturday morning.

     Check it out
here, here, and here.

As always, you can drop by Attrition's official website and Myspace page for more info and updates.

Remixing Again!

I've been doing some remix work once again.  This time for up and coming indie favorites South Super Highway.  Started work on their song "Tampo" this week and hope to finish it soon as I am hoping to remix another song or two.  If the band likes 'em enough they might include it on their debut album which they are working on now and will be released anytime soon.  That should be something worth waiting for if you're a fan of good alternative music.

Give A Damn

Played another gig with indie-alternative band "South Super Highway" last Dec 30 on a Lollapalooza-type event called "Give A Damn" (a benefit thing, hence the title).  Big event, big venue, big stage, plus big names on the bill - unfortunately the audience turnout wasn't as big.

Also, Ben lost his guitar sound during the first song, then I lost my synth for most of the second song...plus I think the synth was only coming out of my monitors and not the PA.  Shinji (drums) couldn't hear anyone but the drums and thus had trouble holding the beat.

But it was a very good experience and I would do it again if given the chance.

L'arte Dei Rumori e.p. Takes The Backseat

Was not able to finish working on the final mixes and mastering of the L'arte Dei Rumori e.p. before the holidays.  Got busy with other stuff - one of which was playing synthesizers for one of Manila's finest (imho) undiscovered indie bands: "South Super Highway".  Played my first gig with them last December 15 and had a blast.  I could've used more practice but time dictated otherwise.  Maybe the next ones would be better.

Travel Agents

Bagetsafonik gave away copies of their "Travelogue" remix album called "Travel Agents: Bagetsafonik Travel Detours" during their anniversary gig last Saturday.  It features a lot of electronic and alternative artists such as Squid9, Morse, and yours truly, doing versions of tracks from "Travelogue".

I'm just happy that I was able to finish the remix of "Sputnik Sweetheart" on time.  Thanks bagets for the opportunity (and the challenge).

Sputnik Remix

I was asked by Bagetsafonik's synth player to do a remix of their song "Spuntik" which got me very excited. That is until I tried laying down ideas and it just wouldn't go anywhere. A perfect time to suffer from writer's block!

Descent, Los Angeles

Working on another collaboration with Kaz.  The track is called "Descent, Los Angeles" and it's turning out great.  Been tweaking with guitars again for this one.  I haven't played guitar in a while so it's a nice "back to my roots" kind of thing.
